What is New AI Media? A guide for D2C founders

New AI Media is ad films, product films and social content made with generative AI instead of a shoot. What it covers, how a project runs, how it's priced and when to use it.

New AI Media is ad films, product films and social content made with generative AI instead of a camera. No studio, no crew, no CGI software. The brand still gets a story, a look and a finished film. It just gets there faster, with fewer people, and with visuals a shoot could never pull off.

What New AI Media covers

It is not one format. It is a way of producing every format a D2C brand runs:

  • AI ad films and launch campaigns: the hero film for a new product or a festive moment.
  • AI product films and 3D ads: the product as the star, for Meta ads and your feed.
  • UGC-style creatives: the relatable, phone-shot look that performs in paid social.
  • Always-on social reels: a steady flow of Instagram content without booking a shoot every month.
  • A+ image creatives: stills for marketplaces and ads.

Why D2C brands are moving off shoots

A shoot locks you in. Once the set is struck, every change costs another day of crew, cast and location. CGI fixes that, but it needs 3D artists and render time. New AI Media keeps the creative control and drops most of the overhead.

How a project works

Your job is approvals. Everything between the approvals is ours. This is how a typical EditGency project runs:

  1. Intro call

We look at your product, your channels and what the film has to do.

  2. Idea and script

On Tier 1 we write it. On Tier 2 you bring the reference, idea or script.

  3. Style frames

You see how the film will look, shot by shot, before anything moves. You approve the idea, script, style frames and assets.

  4. Production

About 10 days from the moment the idea and script are locked to the final, closed film.

  5. Delivery

Finished films for your feed and your Meta ads.

How it is priced

EditGency works on a fixed monthly retainer, plus each project's asset cost, paid upfront when the project begins. The asset cost depends on what you are making: a Tier 1 film, a Tier 2 piece or A+ image creatives. Because there is no crew, cast or location to book, you are paying for ideas and execution, not logistics.

Does AI content actually perform?

The objection we hear most is that AI content isn't authentic and nobody follows it. So we tested it on our own Instagram: story-led, concept-first films, not AI for its own sake.

4.9M

People don't stop scrolling because something is made with AI, and they don't skip it for that reason either. They stop for a good idea. AI just removes the budget ceiling on what that idea can look like.

When New AI Media is the right call

  • You are launching a product and need a hero film without a shoot budget.
  • You have a festive or occasion campaign with a fixed date.
  • Your feed needs fresh content every month, not one big shoot a year.
  • Your idea needs visuals that would be impossible or too expensive to film.

If the value of the film is a real customer telling their own story, film that person. For almost everything else a D2C brand puts on its feed and in its ads, New AI Media is faster and gives you more room to be creative.

FAQ

Is New AI Media the same as AI stock video?+

No. Each film is built around your product, your campaign and a script, then approved through style frames before production. Stock video is generic footage anyone can use.

How long does an AI ad film take?+

About 10 days from the moment the idea and script are locked to the final film. Before that you approve the idea, script, style frames and assets.

Do I have to give EditGency the idea or script?+

It depends on the tier. On Tier 1 EditGency takes it from ideation to the final asset. On Tier 2 you bring the reference, idea or script and EditGency goes straight to execution.

Can AI-made films run as Meta ads?+

Yes. EditGency delivers product films, 3D ads and UGC-style creatives made for your feed and your Meta ads.
